About the Director Owner & Founder of Gateway

Hello my name is Sue Bailey thank you for visiting our site. I am the director, owner and founder of Gateway Workshops™ and this has been my passion for over 20 years!

I was a therapist and then a tutor for over 8 years teaching Indian head massage and Reiki/Seichem Healing, I enjoyed my time as a tutor and the students loved my high standards and care. The feedback from students was that they were unhappy however with other schools and the lack of quality of their training.

I was in contact with many excellent tutors that did not have the time or finances to promote themselves, I was asked for their contact details which took me on the next stage of my journey. I gave up teaching to dedicate my full time to starting a new school, that was back in 1998 and I have spent every year carefully selecting tutors to run the courses we offer making sure the high standard were the number one priority.

I built Gateway slowly with only a few tutors and just a handful of accredited courses to start with and now we have over 60 accredited courses and over 25 tutors! 

I am extremely proud of what I have built over the last twenty years and our feedback is wonderful from the thousands of students we teach.

We offer the personal touch with high standards, we also offer affordable courses and fantastic aftercare by tutors with great passion for what they do.

Upon successful completion of your training course with us you will be awarded the Gateway Workshops Diploma. We have the most experienced tutors and your Diploma is well recognised and respected within the industry and enables you to join professional associations and get insurance cover for your professional massage or beauty practice in a salon, hotel spa or if you are self employed.

We also have ITEC courses, specialising in small training class numbers to ensure individual and personal attention.

All our Courses have been Awarded CPD (Continuing Professional Development) Points

There are a certain amount of points required by the various bodies (IFPA, FHT etc) to ensure that members are up to date with various therapies. For example Aromatherapists are required every 3 years to keep their training in massage up to date and will look for CPD courses to be able to do this.

Our CPD courses are available for the professional massage therapist or for the complete beginner. All professional bodies award one day courses various amounts of CPD points, on average FHT & Embody award 5 - 10 points and the beauty and holistic guild award approx 15 points. Please check with your association to confirm CPD points.

We also offer longer ITEC massage courses, we have an excellent reputation, the time and the cost commitment to you is a larger investment on a longer course so it is very important to make sure you are booking with the right school and trusting our team at Gateway Workshops you will be sure to receive the highest quality courses around.
